EXP2 SUBMISSION / Light Rail Stop / LUMION

THE ARCHITECTURE

ARCHITECTS:

Servo Stockholm (Concept: The Organic)
Le Corbusier (Concept: Structure, raising building to replace the ground below)

Overall Concept: SUSTAINABILITY

Entry/Exit and Tram Stop

This building features an elevator for access to the upper level and rooftop garden with solar panels to satisfy the sustainable component. The facade of the building aims to reflect Servo’s concept of organic architecture and biomimicry, in replicating a palm leaf, whilst simultaneously shading the building from the sun, and enhancing the aesthetics of the building through custom textures.

Waiting Areas
Another custom texture can be seen below to enhance a seating area below the tram stop. Furthermore, Le Corbusiers architectural characteristic of raising buildings on pilotis can be seen in the main tram platform, raised above the ground.

Organic Pathway
I used the concept of the organic and biomimicry to create the hexagonal pavement shapes (drawn from bee hive structures) and the hexagonal mesh roof for the tram line. I applied a custom concrete texture and added grass within the pavement stones in Lumion to enhance the organic pattern.

Mesh Tram Tunnel
I digitally altered many of my textures in photoshop to enhance their aesthetic qualities. This is applied in the hexagonal mesh roof as seen below with a fibreglass custom texture.

Tunnel and Second Entry/Exit
The second component of the tram stop featuring an in/outdoor cafe, a tunnel for cars below and stairs leading to a waiting area on the tram line.
